The library became my best friend as we could check out lullaby CDs for 21 days! Plus we could renew them up to 3 times, as long as no one was on the waitlist, which for lullaby CDs, was never, so I was able to hold onto CDs for a total of 63 days, though I usually returned them before then. It was nice as we were able to check out multiple CDs at a time so we could switch them every few days, as trust me, you will get sick of hearing the same first few songs over and over again.
Some CDs were so bad, I didn't even keep them for 21 days! I didn't think there could be bad lullaby CDs, but some of them actually had tunes that were a bit too fast or upbeat and distracted our daughter, rather than relaxed her. We found a Michael Jackson Lullaby CD, which we thought was awesome, but she was not a fan! They were basically instrumentals of his songs, but they forgot to slow the tempo down, so it wasn't very relaxing.
I have been through my fair share of CDs and so I thought I would share which ones are our favorites so you can avoid so many trips to your library, or know which ones are worth buying so you always have a few on hand!
These aren't in any particular order, you can click on the images to find the CD on Amazon! I will note that all of these are instrumental, there is no singing.
Also, the Star Wars lullaby CD does have one fast song which is the "The Cantina Band." It didn't bother our girl, probably because it's further down on the list so she's already asleep by then, but it may bother your baby. I love all the other songs on it though so had to include it!
You can also find these and more in my Amazon Shop!

The rockabye cd's were always my favorite! We got a Nine Inch Nails one when Evie was born, and we still use it to this day, though I also have the playlist saved on my Youtube account now, too.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize there were so many lullaby cds of popular artists. This is a cute idea. The Disney ones would be a big hit in our house.
ReplyDeletePiano lullaby is great, I think. Babies are acquainted with rhythm from a very young age. Hopefully they will love playing piano when they are growing up..
ReplyDeleteI hope so! I play piano and hope my daughter gets into it as well!
DeleteWe tended to use white noise with our children but I liked lullabies for bedtime. I agree that some are too upbeat and totally seem to defeat the purpose of getting them to calm down. I had no idea there was a lullaby rendition of Frozen! Too funny! Thanks fo the list.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't own a white noise machine, but had a CD Player, so we went this route first hoping it would work and it did!
DeleteMy boys are way past the age for these but you’ve given me some awesome gift ideas for my newborn niece!!! Shell
ReplyDeleteI am loving these ideas! I would have loved them when my kiddos were little.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that Michael Jackson lullaby CDs existed!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about most of these until I searched "lullaby cds" on the library website, so many! It's a shame the Michael Jackson one wasn't a hit with our girl.
DeleteWow That's a great collection on CDs.. I never knew about most of them . Thank you for sharing !
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I hope you find a few you like!
DeleteThat's such a great idea to check them out from the library! I've yet to take advantage of the library that way. And there are SO many lullaby CDs.
ReplyDeleteYes! I love our local library. It's great that I can put things on "hold" online and then they email me when they are ready to pickup! It's such a great way to save money on CDs, movies, and books!
DeleteYour selection is well done. I personally used the Disney Lullyabye C.F. for both of mine.
